Desperately Seeking a Laptop Bag

I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago. I was desperate for one. I'm a freelancer, so a laptop is an essential thing for me to do my work, and up until this purchase I had been stuck in the house getting work done on the slowest desktop known to mankind.  I bought the laptop so I could get out of the house more and get work done in cafes and out and about. Working at home can give you cabin fever. That was a long story that didn't need to be told.

Anyway, my original point was that because I'll be carrying my laptop everywhere, I'm going to need to get a bad to actually put it in. Up until now, I've been using this tote that I got from strand, which works fine, but it'd probably be better to get something with more compartments and pockets. I usually like to carry around a notebook and tons of pens and various other things as well.

I found this cute site with laptop bags for women and there's actually a few things listed there that I might be interested in buying. Or at least it's giving me a direction to start in. I'm not going to lie, when it comes to researching something that is absolutely essential, I really do have the tendency to get a little lazy. Now if I had no money to spend and if I totally didn't need a bag, you could find me all over the internet finding things I want to buy and absolutely don't need. That's just how my brain works I guess.

Some handbags I like

I keep a folder with photos of handbags that I collect. It's kind of crazy, but I think it's pretty fun too.

handbag trends that I don't understand

These bags are well loved by people everywhere but I really don't get it. These bags are just hideous in my opinion. I'm not crazy about the colors or the patterns. I can't see the appeal at all. To me they look like things that a little kid or maybe a teenager would carry.

Satchel Bags
Yep, I know this is a really unpopular opinion. Satchel bags are all the rage with everyone. However I really don't understand them. They're too boxy for my taste and they mostly remind me of little school girls. That's not a style that I find particularly attractive on a grown woman.

Bags with Studs on them
I'm not even sure if this is still a trend that everyone is wild about anymore, but I am so done with studded anything. I remember for a while I would try to buy a new bag and it would be ruined by a studded bottom or a studded border. The worst is when you see something cute and then you turn it over and there are studs everywhere. Oh my gosh no! An absolutely nightmare. I'm exaggerating, but please let this trend die a big death already. I'm regretting those studded shoes I bought last year. I knew it was a mistake from the moment I pulled my wallet out.

Handbag purge

I'm a bag lover, and as a result, I have accumulated an absurd amount of purses, clutches, totes, you name it, over the years. The bad thing about this is that I look at all the bags that I own and all I see is all the money I have spent. The good thing about this is that I keep all of my bags in pristine condition, so I'm going to get rid of some and sell them online. It's going to be a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Basically I'm going to have to start by going through everything I own and sorting out all the things I'm willing to part with. It's going to be difficult because I like and use a lot of the things that I own. It'll also be terrible because some of these things have sentimental value to them as silly as that sounds. There's a lot of memories that come with the bags that I own. I can look at a certain bag and remember the concert that I wore it to. I can look at a bag and remember that it was the bag that I used my first day at university. I suppose I could take a picture and keep the memories alive that way. Keep memories and acquire money.

There's a couple of bags that I can definitely donate to friends as well. It could be pretty fun. I have some friends who are always borrowing bags from me anyway, so it would definitely be nice to give a couple of them away. I should probably wait until after Christmas to do that though, since I don't want my friends to think I am giving them bags because I am too cheap to buy them really Christmas presents. That would be hilarious though.
